MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick Review

Ruby Woo Red Lips

One thing I can't live without is a good red lipstick. I have tried many different brands and I must say I like them all but you can't be a red lippy lover without owning a MAC Ruby Woo right? So with that in mind, I headed straight to my local counter last Saturday to spend £15 on this little beauty...

What I like about the Ruby Woo lipstick is that its matte! I much prefer a matte lipstick to a glossy one. I am unsure why apart from the fact that a matte tends to last longer on my lips so I don't need to reapply it often throughout the day. This particular red has a blue base/undertone (so I have been told by one of the artists at the MAC counter) so it makes your teeth look whiter! Who wouldn't want that?!

What do you think? This is one of my top buys of the month and I will probably buy it again once this one runs out! I also intend on looking for a nice orange\coral colour for the summer months. I have seen quite a few nice lip crayons in coral shades but there is always that much choice I never know what to buy! A lovely Revlon one took my eye in Boots last week. I might treat myself with my Advantage Card points!

 Much Love,

  1. I'm desperate for a MAC lipstick but there isn't a counter where I live :( I'm thinking of waiting til I go on holiday as there is a MAC counter in Manchester airport and of course, it's duty free so it will be cheaper. This colour is gorgeous though so definitely considering this one :)

    1. Hi Lucy, I had to travel 40 miles to the nearest city to get to the MAC counter! (had to be done) Your better buying it in the airport though! any discount is worth having. If you love red lippy you'll not get much better than this :)

    1. Hi Gail, I just looked up Lady Danger on the MAC website and it looks beautiful! It seems to have a more orange tone than Ruby Woo

  4. Go on, treat yourself with your points! Haha! I love Ruby Woo, it's so lovely and as it's matte it'll probably last forever on the lips too :-)

I liked Ruby Woo but it was so drying on the lips that i didnt buy it. Do you use a moisturizer or exfoliate your lips before you put it on?

  11. Hi there :) No, I don't put anything on my lips beforehand! I really like the matte effect and I don't mind the feeling of it. Maybe you should go for something that isn't as matte as Ruby Woo? Either that or try an exfoliator such as the LUSH lip scrubs!
