Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick Review

Red lips with Revlon

Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick Review

Hi everyone! I hope you are all well. I have been meaning to write this post since I purchased these little Revlon beauties a few weeks ago. I thought I better get to it because you just need to know how GREAT they are! They are a great alternative to my trusty MAC lipstick. If you have been following me on Instagram you will know how much I am obsessed with their Ruby Woo. Every other photo upload is of my pouting Ruby Woo lips. I'll stop. I promise. These are my second favourite makeup buys, and I got two of these for next to nothing!

When Boots has their 3 for 2 offer on all their makeup it's kind of.. hard.. to refrain from buying like... everything. I have always loved Revlon, their Colorstay foundation was the first liquid foundation I ever purchased and I would still wear it to this day. So I thought I'd branch out a little and try some of their other products. I adore a red lippy so I ended up purchasing the Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in 'Couture' which is a gorgeous striking and bold red. It's a little darker than my Ruby Woo which I like. It's a gorgeous classy shade which would dress up any outfit for a night out. I have also been lusting after an orange shade for Spring. I tried on an orange MAC lippy and it was nothing short of a disaster, I looked like a clown! So I thought it would be safer to go for something a little less 'out-there'. I picked up the Colorstay Ultimate Suede in 'Designer' which is red with a orange tone to it. I suited this much better and I recommend it to anyone who wants to try the orange/coral lip trend but they aren't brave enough to go for all out orange!

This is going to be painful because I love it so much, but is it just me or do the Revlon Lip Butters not last long at all? I lifted my Peach Parfait shade yesterday, screwed it up, and could have cried at all the amount I had left. I don't even feel like I've used it much! I think it's because they are like a lip balm so I must use much more of it than I would with a lipstick. The same cannot be said for the Colorstay Ultimate Suede collection. I apply it with a lip brush and I can tell they are going to last me agesss. Not only that, the staying power isn't to be sniffed at. I only had to reapply it after 3 hours. For me that's quite good as I seem to just eat the lipstick off my lips (haha)

Here's a bit of a summary for you..

1. Shade selection: 20 shades with large variation.

2. Price: £8.99, very good value for money in my opinion and if you wanted three shades you'd get one free with the 3 for 2 Boots offer

3. Colour: very pigmented

4. Staying power: I give it a high 9/10

5. the average customer rating is 4/5 which is very credible

What do you think of these shades? Have you ever tried any of the lipsticks in the Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede collection?

Much Love,
