Black Whistles Clutch Bag

heyyyyyyy beauts!

I am on the ball today and I *think* I now have the perfect Christmas party dress! Everybody needs one of those, right? The lovely people at Blue Vanilla sent me this Mimi lace sleeve black dress and I was so happy as I had been eyeing it up on their website, as you do. I'm not a huge fan of black and I don't wear it that often but I just love the long lace sleeves on this dress. Anything with some lace on it is a winner for me, especially at this time of year. Yay for party season!

I was surprised to find that the quality of this is actually very good, it is a great heavy material and it falls nicely, a great find at only £22. I don't know about you, but I don't like spending a heap of money on one outfit for one night out and I would be more than happy to pay closer to the £30 or even the £40 mark for a dress of this quality, and I mean that!

To be honest, it actually reminds me of the shape of my irish dancing dress. Long fitted sleeves and swings at the bottom, fellow irish bloggers will know where I'm coming from there! I have clinched it in at the waist with my Ted Baker waist belt to give it a bit more shape but I like equally without. The great thing about plain black is that you can team it with any colour. You can be so flexible with your accessories, jewellery and shoes, so no panicking wondering what to wear with it! Size-wise I wear a size 12 on bottom and a size 10 top and this dress is a size small. It fits perfectly, this would lead me to believe that the sizing runs generous as i'd usually have to order a medium in most brands.

I purchased these Eiffel Tower tights in Primark for the bargain price of £1 but I couldn't find anything in my wardrobe that I could wear them with. I like how they lift the dress without being too over-the-top, I'm not sure if plain black tights would have had the same effect, what do you think?

So anyway rambling aside, if you have a Christmas party to attend this year I highly recommend the Blue Vanilla website. Check out their going out dresses, there are some beaut ones! Sigh... yet another online store to spend my wages on!

Are you a lover of black? Check out my black jumpsuit which would also be great for a party night! I also have been eyeing up this floral print white collar dress from Blue Vanilla for something a little more casual. Collars are my favourite thing ever and these ones have little embellishments on them. So cute!
