Holiday Makeup with bareMinerals, Sleek and MAC

Holiday Makeup bareMinerals

Hi all!

After not coping so well with the holiday blues I decided to write a short post all about the primer, foundation etc. I used when I was away. With Italy currently experiencing mega-hot weather that I couldn't cope with, (40oc+) my makeup had to STICK to my face like there was no tomorrow! A shiny forehead and a greasy chin is a no no, right?

If you follow me on Instagram you have probably already seen a  summarised version of this post and you are probably sick of me ranting and raving about my favourite makeup brand - bareMinerals...

But really, any makeup that stays put all day in hot and humid weather gets a big thumbs up from me!

bareMiners Prime Time Original (£22) - I have combination skin, quite oily on the T-zone and dry everywhere else. This provides the best 'undercoat' and I swear by it, I think it really brings out the best in my foundation. I pump once and apply it mostly to my forehead, sides of my nose and chin. Et voila - a super smooth base.

bareMinerals Ready SPF20 (£26) - Forget everything you know about so-called powder foundations! This looks like a light powder but when it is applied it feels like a cream. The beauty about this is that it is ultra lightweight and buildable, so you can choose to have a light coverage for day-time or full coverage for evening. Gone are the days of needing two different foundations for different coverage. There is also a huge range of colours. I used R150 as I have quite pale skin. Check the bareMinerals website and take the test to find your perfect match.

Sleek Makeup Face Contour Kit (£6.99) - This is a lovely natural bronze shade, not too light that you can barely see it and not too dark (or orange!). It also has a light shimmer to it which is nice for a sun kissed glow. The only downside to this kit is that I don't think it's big enough. In saying that, you can't really complain for that price!

Sleek Makeup Face Contour Kit (£6.99) - Because when this comes as a duo it's the perfect travel kit. I use an angled brush and swipe a small bit of product up my cheek bones and down the centre of my nose. Even if I don't get a natural colour on holiday, this kit helps to get rid of that lovely Irish paleness!

MAC Sheertone Blush in 'Gingerly' (£18.50) - Pretty pricey for a blusher but I have bought this exact blush (same tone and everything) the past three times I have went makeup shopping. I have a pet hate towards pinky blushes, I don't know if it's just me but some pinks just scream barbie. This is a subtle shade that warms up the cheeks, it lasts well on the skin and it's buildable, making it suitable for a light colouring through the day and more dramatic for evening. When I had my first taster of the MAC counter this is the blush that I was matched to and I have stuck with it ever since...

And that's it - my 5 step simple holiday face regime! If you struggle to find a foundation that stays put, branch out and opt for bareMinerals. You'll be well equipped to tackle the holiday heat with their range!
